As most sports media outlets are making their all-decade teams, so I figured I'd weigh in on the MLB one. MLB.Com is doing a vote come February, but they're doing one for both the AL and the NL. While that'd be nice, I'd have to say that Cano would be the AL second baseman and 5 years doesn't completely cut it for me.
I took a look at stats from 2000-2009, and did my best to leave out pre-2000 stats and awards. Pitchers are too inconsistent, so I'll just thrown them into the honorable mention part. Here is my team:
Catcher: Ivan Rodriguez (.298, 161 HR, 643 RBI, 5 Gold Gloves)
1B: Todd Helton (.331, 260 HR, 981 RBI)
2B: Jeff Kent (.300, 216, 850 RBI, 2000 MVP)
3B: Alex Rodriguez [3B stats only] (.300, 238, 716, 3 MVP's)
SS: Derek Jeter (.317, 161, 727)
OF: Manny Ramirez (.317, 348, 1106)
