#41: Pepper

We're on the road see, we're not on MTV. And when we get there we won't shave our heads of be fags like Creed

Continuing along, Pepper comes in at 41. I went to go see them in Virginia on Friday. We didn't get their until well after their set was over. It was a bit of a disappointment.

Wiki Says:
Pepper is a rock band originally from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. They play a mix of reggae, dub and rock...The band released their fourth album (and major label debut) entitled "No Shame" on October 3, 2006. It features production from Nick Hexum of 311, Tony Kanal of No Doubt, and Sublime producer/ Butthole Surfers member Paul Leary. A music video was shot for the single "No Control".

Romo Says:
Pepper has a number of songs that are provocative to say the least lyrically, such as "Point and Shoot" and "Give it Up", but most of these tend to fall flat. Contrasty, it's the subtle yet well-put together songs, such as "Back Home" and "Ashes" where Pepper exceed.

Pepper are a better band then they present themselves. As Romo said, the songs people like most kind of suck. They're very good at playing reggae with mixes of punk and rock. I hate the people who go see them live. I don't smoke pot and they all do. I know reggae and they don't. It is upsetting because it makes me not inclined to see them live.

Next Up: A band no one reading this has ever heard of!
