ALDS Game One Recap

I'll talk a little about tonight's game, but there's not much to say. Yanks played a great game, and really got the post season off right. Great to see everyone hitting the ball well, but the Twins weren't horrible, they were just over matched.

One thing I'm going to do is (and this is taken from the Star Ledger) rank (I'll go with 3) players from the game in terms of their performance. However (like the Ledger), I'll be ranking them via faces of people related to the two teams in some way or another. (If you can't see, thats Chuck Knoblauch and Brett Favre)

Yankees

Derek Jeter:

The captain coming through in the clutch again with a big night.

Sabathia/A-Rod:

Shaking off the post season criticism quite well

Mariano Rivera

A little shaky, but dominant none the less....like always

Twins

Joe Mauer/Mike Cuddyer:

Who needs Justin Mornaeu?

Brian Duensing:

Tough spot for a rookie, held the Yanks for a while.

Fransisco Liriano

Really delivering on that promise to be the next Johan Santana...
